Community Hours

St Benedict’s

 Foreward

All boys at St Benedict’s are encouraged and expected to be involved in some form of Community Service and Outreach initiative. The school makes every effort to develop and instil a value of serving others in each of our boy’s hearts.

As members of a Catholic community we have a responsibility to come to the aid of our neighbour. Giving alms to the poor is a witness to fraternal charity: it is also a work of justice pleasing to God.

Welcome to the Community Hours Community!

Welcome St Benedict’s to the Community Hours Community! Community Hours provides engaging and meaningful volunteering opportunities. We offer digital logging, verification and reporting of hours. For your own reporting purposes you can print digital reports of hours completed – you have the option to select date parameters, and digital certificates of events. Reports and certificates can be used for the purposes of The President’s Award, Tertiary Applications and Leadership Applications.

 Log Your Hours
Log Your Hours

Once you have volunteered, it is essential that you log your volunteering hours. The best time to do this is in the car on the way home – in this way all of the details are still fresh in your mind. The responsibility of logging hours is yours, the organisation is not able to do so on your behalf. Logging hours takes between 3 – 5 minutes, it is quick and user friendly. Once you have logged and submitted your hours, the organisation where you volunteered will receive an email to verify the hours. This process can take anything from 3 – 5 days.

We do monitor this process and we will follow up telephonically with the organisation after 5 days should your hours remain unverified.

 Support

We offer support by email and telephonically. Should you require any support please feel free to email Melissa.
